New PhD student at the CinemaProject

‘CINEMA – Organizing and Managing Creative Enterprises’ is a research project concerned with the study of the film industry and filmmaking, studying how innovative, high framework filmmakers organize, manage and combine creativity with commercial interests.

 

Jesper Strandgaard Pedersen
Jesper Strandgaard Pedersen is professor at the Department of Organization and Industrial Sociology, Copenhagen Business School. He gained his Ph.D. in organization theory from Copenhagen Business School (CBS). His general research interests center on identity creation, sensemaking and organizational transformation processes. His specific research activities have concerned cultural transformation processes in high-tech firms, occupational subcultures, mergers and acquisitions, cultural and institutional patterns with regard to the creation, diffusion and legitimation of managerial ideas and practices. Recent publications have focussed on changes in the media and business press field and on strategies for organizing and managing creative enterprises.

  Per Darmer
Per Darmer is associate professor at CEUS – Centre for Leisure Management Research. He is Ph.D. in organization theory from Copenhagen Business School. He is generally interested in research within organization theory, organizational behaviour and method. His specific research has been focused on organizational culture and culture formation in organizations, organizing & sensemaking, HRM, identification, innovation and emotions. Recent publications have been about these topics related to creative enterprises within the Danish music industry.

  Chris Mathieu
Chris Mathieu is an associate professor at Copenhagen Business School’s Department for Organization and Industrial Sociology. He received his PhD in Sociology from Lund University in Sweden, and has a Master’s Degree from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies in African Area Studies. Prior to coming to CBS he had taught at universities in California, Sweden and Lesotho. Since completing his PhD he has worked on projects examining work processes and gender issues in the Information Technology sectors in Sweden and Ireland and regulation in the Swedish finance sector. What links these activities with his current focus on the Scandinavian film industry is a meso/micro-sociological approaches to labour processes and the coordination and direction of production in intimate work-group settings, and the linkage between culture and agency.

  Sara Malou Strandvad
Sara Malou Strandvad is a PhD student at the Department of Organization and Industrial Sociology, Copenhagen Business School. She has a Master's Degree in sociology from the University of Copenhagen. Her master's thesis focused on young, Danish film directors struggling to establish their careers, juxtaposing pleasures of creative work with restraints on creative work. Her main research interests have previously been inspired by cultural studies, gender studies and youth studies, e.g. going into gender relations on Danish hiphop culture. Prior to CBS she has worked as a teaching assistant at the Institute of Sociology, University of Copenhagen. Her PhD project explores models of organization in the Danish film industry - from High Concept and auteur theory to High Framework.

Jesper Schlamovitz
Jesper Schlamovitz is a PhD student at the Department of Organization and Industrial Sociology, Copenhagen Business School. He is M.Sc. in Business and Educational Studies from Roskilde University. His PhD project is entitled “Project Management in Construction and Movie Industries. He is generally interested in research within organizational sociology, dynamics of innovation, knowledge management, project work, and project management. He has experience as a management consultant, lecturer and educational developer, and has worked as a TV-producer prior to his academic career. His research is focused on the dynamics of innovation in creative industries.
